Our journey begins early in the morning in Dehradun. At 6:00 am, we gather and set off on a scenic drive towards Harsil. The 216 km route is an adventure in itself, passing through charming spots like Dhanaulti, Suvakholi, Chinyalisaur, Tehri Dam, Uttarkashi, Bhatwari, and Gangnani. As we wind through these picturesque locations, you’ll be treated to stunning views of rolling hills and quaint towns. After an 8 to 9-hour drive, we arrive in the tranquil village of Harsil, where we will rest overnight in a comfortable hotel.
Following a hearty breakfast, we embark on our trek to Lower Kyarkoti. This 8 km trek takes us through lush meadows and offers a gentle ascent that’s perfect for easing into the adventure. En route, we visit the Lal Devta Mandir, a sacred temple revered by the locals. The evening sees us setting up camp in the serene grasslands, surrounded by majestic hills. This first night under the stars promises a unique and memorable experience.
After breakfast, we continue our journey with a 7 km trek from Lower Kyarkoti Camp to Upper Kyarkoti Camp. This stretch is particularly scenic, featuring a gradual ascent through picturesque hills and alongside the Bugyal river. Upon reaching Upper Kyarkoti Camp, you’ll be captivated by the stunning landscape. Spending the night here, surrounded by nature and under the vast open sky, is an experience you’ll treasure forever.
Today is dedicated to exploring the natural wonders around Upper Kyarkoti Camp. We’ll trek to Kyarkoti Lake and Lamkhaga Pass, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Kinnaur Valley, Dhauladhar Valley, and Harsil Valley. Lamkhaga Pass, one of the highest in the region, offers a challenging yet rewarding experience. After soaking in the stunning vistas, we return to our camp for another night under the stars.

We begin our return journey today, trekking back to Lower Kyarkoti Camp. This descent allows you to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the area. The tranquility of Lower Kyarkoti Camp provides a perfect setting to unwind and reflect on the journey so far.

We continue our descent back to Harsil, retracing our steps and savoring the magnificent views along the way. Upon arrival in Harsil, we check into our hotel and have the opportunity to explore the village or simply relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

Our adventure concludes as we embark on the journey back to Dehradun. After a warm, hearty breakfast, we pack our belongings and begin the 216 km drive. Reflecting on the unforgettable experiences and memories we’ve made, we return to Dehradun with a sense of accomplishment and a deep connection to the beautiful landscapes of the Kyarkoti Trek.
