Why Dodital
Dodital is a small, emerald lake ringed by tall forest, with a little Ganesh temple on its shore. Local tradition says this is where Goddess Parvati created Ganesha, and the stream that flows out of the lake is called the Assi Ganga. The trail passes through Garhwali villages, oak and rhododendron forest and open clearings. It is far quieter than the better-known treks, and the forest is rich in birds.
