Detailed itinerary
Day 01: Dehradun to Harsil
Our journey begins early in the morning in Dehradun. At 6:00 am, we gather and set off on a scenic drive towards Harsil. The 216 km route passes through charming spots like Dhanaulti, Suvakholi, Chinyalisaur, Tehri Dam, Uttarkashi, Bhatwari, and Gangnani. After an 8 to 9-hour drive, we arrive in the tranquil village of Harsil, where we rest overnight in a comfortable hotel.
Day 02: Trek to Lower Kyarkoti camp
Following a hearty breakfast, we trek to Lower Kyarkoti. This 8 km trek crosses lush meadows with a gentle ascent. En route we visit Lal Devta Mandir, a sacred temple revered by locals. Evening camp in serene grasslands surrounded by majestic hills.
Day 03: Ascend to Upper Kyarkoti camp
After breakfast, we continue with a 7 km trek from Lower to Upper Kyarkoti Camp. Gradual ascent through picturesque hills alongside the Bugyal river. Overnight surrounded by nature under open skies.
Day 04: Relaxation & adventure — Kyarkoti Lake & Lamkhaga Pass
Explore around Upper Kyarkoti: trek to Kyarkoti Lake and Lamkhaga Pass for views of Kinnaur, Dhauladhar, and Harsil Valley. Lamkhaga Pass offers a challenging yet rewarding experience. Return to camp for the night.
Day 05: Descent from Upper to Lower Kyarkoti camp
Trek back to Lower Kyarkoti Camp. The descent lets you savour the landscape again; Lower Kyarkoti is ideal to unwind and reflect.
Day 06: Return trek to Harsil
Descend to Harsil, retracing the trail. Check into the hotel; explore Bagori village or relax in peaceful surroundings.
Day 07: Harsil to Dehradun — departure
After breakfast, the 216 km drive back to Dehradun (about 8–9 hours). A journey of reflection after your Kyarkoti Trek.
