By road: the route we recommend
Take the Delhi–Meerut Expressway and NH-334 to Haridwar and Rishikesh. From Rishikesh, NH-34 climbs through Chamba, crosses Chinyalisaur and Dharasu, and follows the Bhagirathi up to Uttarkashi. The full trip is about 400 km and takes 11–12 hours with breaks. Leave Delhi by 5 am so you drive the hill section in daylight.
An alternative from Dehradun runs via Mussoorie and Suwakholi to Chinyalisaur. It is scenic but slower and narrower, so most drivers stick to the Rishikesh route.
Our resort is at Bhareti Chungi on New Bypass Road, 3 km before Uttarkashi town on this same road. You reach us without driving through the town.

Where to break the journey

- Chamba: good tea stalls and views over Tehri.
- Chinyalisaur: views over the Tehri lake, a short stop before the last stretch.
Driving tips
- Avoid driving the hills after dark. Plan to reach Uttarkashi before sunset.
- In July and August the monsoon brings landslides. Check road status and keep a spare day.
- Fuel up in Rishikesh or Chamba. Pumps are fewer higher up.
- Carry motion sickness tablets. The road has many bends after Rishikesh.
